Conservative Party candidate Bob Spencer has won the Codsall seat at Staffordshire County Council.
Councillor Spencer was elected yesterday at a by-election held following the death of sitting Conservative county councillor Robbie Marshall.
Coun Spencer received 1,274 votes. Green Party candidate Gary Burnett polled 329 votes, while Labour Party candidate Kevin McElduff received 283 votes. The turnout was 19.6 per cent.
The result means the overall political make-up of Staffordshire County Council is unchanged: the Conservatives hold 51 seats, Labour 10 and Independents one.
