Gritters have been out on Staffordshire’s roads overnight to meet predicted bad weather.
With snow forecast for the early hours of this morning in parts of the county, and low temperatures elsewhere, Staffordshire County Council’s fleet of more than 40 gritters was on the roads during the day yesterday before going out again overnight.
Helen Fisher, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Support member for Highways and Transport, said:
Gritting crews were out late yesterday and then again in the early hours to prepare for the snow forecast for higher ground.
There are mixed conditions on the roads this morning and the gritting day shift will carry on as necessary, but people out and about today should take care regardless and drive appropriately for the conditions.”
