The final out of work claimant count figure for 2016/17 for Staffordshire shows continued near full employment in the county.
At 1.1 per cent of the local population, this is lower than both regional (2.5 per cent) and national (1.9 per cent) figures, issued today.
Staffordshire County Council’s director for the economy, infrastructure and skills Darryl Eyers said:
It’s pleasing to see Staffordshire continue to see record low unemployment which is good news for all residents. The figure has been continuously low all year and has remained lower than both regional and national averages. We hope this trend continues into the new financial year.”
