Council services available over Christmas and New Year holidays

Staffordshire County Council will be making its services available over the festive holidays to ensure that people can access the services and the support they need.

The Council will be open for business as usual during most of the Christmas and New Year holidays, apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January.  Most services will be open as usual on 28, 29 and 30 December including the main Customer Contact Centre on 0300 111 8000.

The county’s libraries and record offices will open over the festive holidays, although there may be slight changes to normal opening hours. Libraries and record offices will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve, and re-open 28 – 31 December. On these days they will close at 5pm, or their normal closing time if that is earlier. All libraries will reopen on Tuesday 3 January. People should check with their local library for exact times or visit www.staffordshire.gov.uk/leisure/librariesnew/libraries. The Shire Hall Gallery will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve, to allow time for last minute Christmas shopping from the Craft Shop, and re-open at its normal times between 28 – 31 December. It will also be closed on 1 & 2 January.

Registration Offices will be open between 9am to 5pm on Wednesday 28, Thursday 29 and Friday 30. To make appointments, customers can call 0300 111 8001.

County buildings on Martin Street will close at 4:30pm on Friday 23 December and reopen on Tuesday 3 January. Staffordshire Place, will be open as normal on 28 29 and 30 December.  Anyone with an urgent highways related enquiry can report it at: www.staffordshire.gov.uk or by calling 0300 111 8011.
