Motorists are reminded that an A-road will be completely closed this weekend.
Work on the A522, north of the A50 between the new roundabout and JCB World Parts Centre, is planned from 8pm on Friday, January 25th until 5am on Monday, January 28th.
The A522 will be closed to all vehicles in both directions to allow some surface finishing off work to integrate part of a new junction with the A522 carriageway.
Pedestrian and bicycle access between Uttoxeter and JCB will be maintained throughout the weekend, but signposted diversions will be in place for all vehicles. Travelling from Uttoxeter, diverted traffic will join the A50 at the new junction with the A522, continue to Blythe Bridge and take the A521 to Tean and then the A522 towards Lower Tean and Checkley. Travelling to Uttoxeter the route is reversed.
Mark Winnington, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet member for Jobs and Growth, said:
As always, I’m grateful for people’s patience while this improvement work is carried out.”
